During the last 36 years thousands of students have experienced our program. While all were appreciated and grew remarkarkably, there are many who have truly distinguished themselves as adults. Some have created their future in dance or entertainment and some have become great successes in various professional fields. Perhaps it’s time to express my pride and admiration by putting them in the spotlight!
To Life and Dance Happiness,
From the very beginning of her dancing school experience it was clear that Shelby was something really special! She was always the first to master any tap step and every intricate rhythm. Everyone agreed she had fabulous feet! As she progressed she eventually became a teacher on our staff. She then attended the University of Michigan and upon graduation moved herself and those “fabulous feet” to New York City! Her years in New York as a tap dancer were very productive. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway and many of New York’s local studios. Her Tap-Torials on YouTube are a huge success and have created a demand for Master Classes and tap choreography all over the country. She is also a constant at the annual Motor City Tap Festival! I salute you, Shelby! Here’s to your friendship, your accomplishments and your fabulous feet!

When she was a little girl her ponytail bounced deliciously as she did flap ball changes across the floor. As she grew her dance ability flourished and she eventually became part of our staff. She then proceeded to dance her way thru the University of Michigan. Upon graduation she spent a short stint in New York City. Then, she was off to Barcelona, Spain! Her reputation in Barcelona spread like wildfire! She is constantly teaching Master Classes and giving Seminars all over the world. This demand has culminated in her opening her very own dance school. “SLAM DANCING” is known as one of the most exciting and cutting edge schools in Europe. My respect and pride for these achievements overwhelms me! My hat’s off to you Susie!! I can hardly wait for our next talk and dinner together!!

DR. COURTNEY MILLER-REID
During her many years at the studio she was consistently one of the most talented and hard working students I ever had. She won dance scholarships and many high awards in competitions. Her character and kindness were always at an inspirat…ional level. Upon graduation she was accepted as 1 of only 4 people into a special accelerated 6 year program at the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry. She has been awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentisty after having taken over 500 hours of post-doctorate training. She is now married and has a lovely baby daughter as well as a partnership in Farmington Smiles. Her practice is located in Farmington, Michigan. Hour Magazine has awarded her as one of the Top Dentists for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015! Congratulations Courtney on your incredible success!
From the earliest stages of her training at the studio as a young girl Arika was equally talented in jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop. It was clear to everyone that she was going to be a dancer. Her skills, style, and technique grew in huge amounts. She finally found herself training at The Julliard School. Her artistry developed into a brilliant dance force that moved everyone who watched her dance. Upon graduation she danced with Gallim Dance C…ompany of NYC. She worked at Korzo Theatre (the Netherlands) and is currently a member of Göteborgs Operans Danskompani in Sweden.
Our pride and warm wishes go out to Arika as she shares her dance genius around the world.
Morgan Rose was truly one of the most naturally talented students I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Dancing, singing, and acting, she was the true triple threat! In her teens, her family moved to Florida, where she attended Florida State University majoring in musical theatre. Upon graduation, she immediately began auditioning and was cast in numerous touring companies including “Shrek”. Currently, she’s about to open in “The Pirates of Penzance” at the Barrington Stage. She is not only an incredible member of the ensemble, but she is also the assistant choreographer and dance captain for none other than Joshua Bergasse, the choreographer of the show!
It is so exciting to me! It’s like a family reunion! Hats off to talent, hard work, and perseverance! Congratulations, Morgan!!!
